- Glykys, Joannes
- (fl. late 13th century)Along with Johannes Koukouzeles, he developed the elaborate Byzantine kalophonic chant. Known as the "teacher of teachers," a manual of Byzantine chironomy is attributed to him, as is a didactic chant, Ison oligon {}oxeia, which, in manner analogous to the system of Guido d’Arezzo, demonstrates chant formulas in the eight modes.See also Akolouthiai.
